We're expecting...but will baby be a Wilson?

I have given in to the peer pressure from my famly to start blogging about the pregnancy and then the baby, so I will do my best break out my inner geek and become a "blogger"....shouldn't be too hard given my profession.

I am sure by now that most of you have heard our wonderful news that we are expecting our first child in July. We got the good news last Friday, October 26th. We called Jason's mom one night this week and I am pretty sure she called everyone she new the minute we got off of the phone with her. We waited to tell my family this weekend in person.

On to the moral story of this blog....Wilson??? Well, off course our child will be a Wilson, but for how long? If she is a girl she will bear the Wilson family name until that anticipated Wedding day(unless culture dictates a new tradition in name taking). A boy, of course, will continue with that name for life.

Jason has a little sister and two cousins, Stefanie, Shelley and Harmon, leaving him with the responsibility of being the last male in the Wilson family line. The gender of our baby will determine the continuation or the possible ending of the Wilson family name, so will he/she be a Wilson? It will be some time before we will know for sure, but we can hardly wait to know so that we can start decorating the baby's room.

It is still early in the pregnancy, but everything seems to be going well. So far the only noticeable changes have been frequent trips to the ladies room and daily naps.
